On Friday, February 6, Corry Middle School students performed “Annie, Jr.” This show was absolutely phenomenal. The future in theater is bright for these young students.
Some performances that stood out to me were Annie, played by Aubree Hawley; Miss Hannigan, played by Lilianna Jones; Oliver Warbucks, played by Griffin Dougherty; Rooster, played by Azlynn Kobal; and Lily, played by Quincy Martson.
Of course, we can not have an outstanding performance without the amazing ensemble, which were the Orphans, Servants and New Yorkers.
They showed some well-known songs such as “Maybe,” “It’s The Hard-Knock Life,” “Tomorrow,” “Little Girls,” and “Easy Street.” Also, during the song “Tomorrow” sung by Aubree Hawley, one of the show’s director’s dog came out onto the stage to play Sandy. This was so cute and the audience loved it.
I would definitely attend another middle school musical in the future after this amazing performance.
