I went into “Michael” expecting another basic celebrity biopic, but it ended up being way more emotional and interesting than I thought it would be.
The movie does a good job showing both the unbelievable success of Michael Jackson and the pressure that came with living under a spotlight basically his entire life. What stood out most to me was how human he felt in the film instead of just being shown as a music icon.
The acting was honestly really strong, especially in the performance scenes. The music and choreography were probably the best parts because they recreated the energy of Michael Jackson concerts really well without making it feel fake or forced. Some scenes were hard to watch because you could see how fame affected his personal life and relationships over time.
I also liked that the movie didn’t just focus on his success. It showed the struggles, criticism, and constant attention from the media that followed him everywhere. That made the story feel more real instead of just being a highlight reel of his career.
Overall, I thought “Michael” was a really solid movie. It had great music, emotional moments, and enough depth to keep it interesting even for people who aren’t huge Michael Jackson fans. It’s definitely one of the better music biopics I’ve seen because it actually made me feel connected to the person behind the fame.
