'Reminders' of a better time at the movies

“Reminders of Him” is a romantic drama from Collen Hoover about Kenna Rowan, a young woman who returns home after serving time in prison for a tragic mistake that caused her boyfriend Scotty’s death. Her main goal is to reconnect with her daughter, Diem, but Scotty’s parents do not trust her and try to keep her away. The only person who gives her a chance is Ledger, Scotty’s best friend.

One successful part of the movie is its strong emotional story. Kenna is a relatable character because viewers can see how hard she is trying to fix her life. Her relationship with Ledger feels real because it grows slowly and is based on trust. The themes of love, family, and redemption make the movie meaningful and touching.

One not-so-successful part of the movie is the pacing; it can feel slow and predictable at times. Some scenes are very dramatic, and the pacing may be too long for some viewers. Scotty’s parents could have been explained more to help the audience understand them better. Even though the message is strong, the movie may not be exciting for everyone.

I think that this movie is very mediocre because it follows a predictable storyline and doesn’t bring much that feels new or exciting. While the emotional moments are meant to be powerful, some scenes feel rushed and the characters can seem one-dimensional and shallow. It has a few heartfelt parts, but in the end the movie is average and doesn’t leave a strong, lasting impression.

Overall, I would rate this movie 3/5 stars.
