'Iron Lung' effective, if sometimes predictable, sci-fi

The movie “Iron Lung” is an exploration of isolation and survival, set against the backround of the “Quiet Rapture” landscape. The movie is about the “Lone Convict” (Simon, played by the incredibly popular YouTuber, Markiplier) who must navigate both the physical challenges of a malfunctioning submarine and the psychological toll of isolation.

The cinematography effectively captures the contrast between the vast emptiness of space and the claustrophobic confine of the Iron Lung submarine, creating a sense of dread and suspense. The performance of the lead actor is very impressive; he has a range of emotions, from fear to determination, that keeps viewers invested. Also, I would recommend watching the movie twice. You miss a lot of key details and hidden cameos within the movie watching it the first time.

While the film excels in depth, both atmospherically and emotionally, it occasionally drives into predictability. Some plot twists feel too easy to guess, detatching the tension built throughout the first half of the movie.

Overall, “Iron Lung” is a look at resilience in the face of misfortune, solidifying its place within the sci-fi genre. I would give the film a rating of 4/5 for its strong performances and atmospheric storytelling, despite minor confusion in the story.
