Recently, I watched all eight Harry Potter movies, and to my surprise, they exceeded my expectations.
The writing from begging to end is so good and while I have not read the books I still think that Harry Potter might be the greatest movie series of all time. Growing up my parents never really liked those movies and I would mainly watch movies like Cars, Spider-man, etc. But I wish I had watched those movies when I was younger because for some reason I felt a certain type of nostalgia after watching the first one, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone.
I really liked the character development from the first one to the last one. In my personal opinion “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part 2” is the best movie out of the eight. I thought that they wrapped up the movies very well, and Snape being a triple agent was the greatest plot twist of the movies. I also liked that they showed Ron, Hermione, and Harry as adults with their kids sending them off to Hogwarts. I’d give that movie a 4.5/5.
I also loved the creativity of Hogwarts. I thought that Hogwarts was such a good fantasy setting and the visuals and magic that they portrayed was really well done. My ranking of all the movies from 1 to 8 would be:
- Deathly Hallows, Part 2 (8)
- Half-Blood Prince (6)
- Goblet of Fire (4)
- Prisoners of Azkaban (3)
- Order of the Phoenix (5)
- Deathly Hallows, Part 1 (7)
- Sorcerer’s Stone (1)
- Chamber of Secrets (2)
Overall, I really enjoyed these movies and am glad I watched them especially with my friends. If I could rate the series as a whole out of 5, I would probably give it a 4.6/5.
