‘Bodies Bodies Bodies’ em-bodies Gen Z

Bodies+Bodies+Bodies+em-bodies+Gen+Z

Recently, I watched the movie “Bodies Bodies Bodies,” which was released on March 14, 2022, and directed by Halina Reijn. The movie is centered around a group of rambunctious young adults throwing a house party during a hurricane, but when the night becomes sinister, chaos ensues. Today I will be reviewing this film and highlighting details about it.

Firstly, I’d like to discuss what I enjoyed. The overall message of the movie was an interesting one that was depicted very well; it deals with how Gen Z would behave in a horror setting, with comedy sprinkled in. It reflects some of this generations odd entitlement, for example when the two characters Jordan and Alice got into an argument while others were actually dying about what class system Jordan and her parents fit into. It is ridiculous that such a thing would be brought up in an intense situation like theirs, however, a lot of Gen Z is stereotyped to not take things as seriously as they should.

The acting was also executed well. Rachel Sennott, who played Alice, was particularly phenomenal, as she did an amazing job doing her character’s dramatic and snobby personality. There is little to dislike about this comedy slasher, and I believe it is worth the watch!

This horror/comedy’s target audience is definitely for who it’s about: Gen Z. Embodying the spirit of today’s young in a way that can also entertain a wide variety of people. “Bodies Bodies Bodies” has an R-rating. I genuinely liked this movie and would recommend this as a great film to watch during a movie night with your friends!
