‘Dumb and Dumber’ remains a comedy classic

Dumb and Dumber remains a comedy classic

The movie “Dumb and Dumber” made its debut December 6, 1994. This movie is definitely a classic for approximately ages 12 and up. The main characters in this movie are best friends, Lloyd (Jim Carrey), and Harry (Jeff Daniels), along with other main character Mary Swanson (Lauren Holly).

“Dumb and Dumber” is the story about two lifelong best friends that go through mostly everything with one another. Lloyd is a limo driver at the beginning of the movie, and he gives a stunning lady a ride to the airport. Lloyd instantly falls in love with Mary after he watched her go into the airport and leave a briefcase behind in the middle of the hall. Harry and Lloyd set out on a mission to find and return this briefcase to her, no matter what it takes.

They make it to Colorado to find Mary, but little do they know that the money was left on purpose to pay off a kidnapping ransom. Lloyd and Harry finally discover what is in the suitcase and spend all the ransom money, and in return they pay it all back with ” I owe yous.”  As they make it to the hotel where Mary and her family were staying they luckily had the police following them all they way to Colorado from where they started. The bad men get busted, and Mary’s husband was safely returned to her, but poor Lloyd was just heartbroken by this.

As a viewer of this movie, I feel as if Carrey, Daniels, and Holly did an amazing job acting in this movie, along with the rest of the cast. This movie is great for probably anyone over the age of 13 who has a great sense of humor. This has personally been one of my favorite movies for a very long time, as I continue to watch it over and over again.

This movie is rated PG 13. Overall, if I had to rate this out of 5 stars, I would give it a whopping 5/5.
