I recently saw Kid Cudi in Cleveland, Ohio, at the House of Blues, and it turned into one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had.
We were lucky enough to get tickets for $100, even though resale prices shot up to around $600 since it was such a random pop up show. We showed up at 8 a.m. to get in line and ended up being the very first ones there. After waiting all day, doors finally opened at 7 p.m.
About an hour before we were let in, staff told us we’d actually be part of a music video shoot for Cudi’s new album. Everyone had to lock their phones in Yondr pouches so we couldn’t use them until we left the venue. Once doors opened, we ran straight to the stage and secured the front and center barricade.
Cudi’s team came around and gave us instructions on what to do, when to cheer, what to say, and how the filming would work. The shoot was for his new song “Mr. Miracle,” and we ended up filming it five different times before he performed a full concert.
The whole experience was unreal, and it’s pretty awesome knowing we are front and center in a Kid Cudi music video. He was super friendly the whole time, and at the end he even did a barricade walk, where he signed my boyfriend’s arm.
