Honorable Mentions: “Just Wanna Rock” by Lil Uzi Vert: It had a lot of people wanting more of Lil Uzi’s tracks when this came out, although it lacked in lyrics or storytelling hearing the beat along with his flow made it even more amazing to listen to hearing someone pull something this different off.
10. “Blinding Lights” by The Weekend: A great album with great songs, this one being his most popular of all time for the beautiful beat connecting with his already amazing vocals.
9. “Ransom” by Lil Tecca: Praised for being a song with only one young man who was believed to be an upcoming one-hit wonder who proved everyone wrong regards this as an beloved artist and song, he is known for having great songs for the summer this one being known as the song that started that belief.
8. “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey: It’s obviously very popular during November-December known for her lovely vocals and a good song to play when you wanna feel Christmas Vibes; but besides that time of the year, it doesn’t have much replayability besides that.
7. “Sicko Mode” by Travis Scott Ft. Drake: This song had the world on a leash for a while especially with the concerts and people’s enjoyment of two extremely popular artists being on a track together, this song popularized more beat switches indefinitely.
6. “No Role Modelz” by J Cole: J Cole had a great run especially while being in the “big 3”, this song hit home to people’s hearts with it releasing only roughly around a year after after James Avery’s death, an actor popularly known for being in “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.”
5. “Hit Em Up” by Tupac: Although it’s a very vulgar song as well as a diss song, it’s clearly one of the most popular songs of all time, especially for being a diss song making this quite impressive. This song alone made Tupac expand from just being a popular rapper to being a popular artist.
4. “Hot” by Young Thung Ft. Gunna: A widely known song, one of the only songs to have people not care about the remix and more about being able to hear the song again.
3. “Love Me” by Lil Wayne Ft. Future: This song is on here less because of the the song, the symbolism, the message, or the lyrics but more for the beat, flow, and the artists placed onto this song. Wayne was often argued about to be one of the best artists all of time, Future being popular for his unique vocals; hearing them on a song together knowing their roles with changing rap as we know it makes this feel like a fine placement for two artists like themselves.
2. “Alright” by Kendrick Lamar: Kendrick Lamar is already discussed to be the best rapper of all time and one of the best artists of all time especially as of recent, but even before his famous beef with Drake he had extraordinarly popular songs before this with a prime example being Alright; this song was played during the BLM Protests following the release of his “TPAB” album becoming an immediate anthem and in my eyes I feel like long before this Kendrick was a phenomenal artist but this solidified him to be not only the best artist in my eyes but a great person.
1. “Beat It” by Michael Jackson: Following my praise on Kendrick Lamar and calling him the best artist, there’s obviously someone in my opinion that overrides my belief on this opinion: Michael Jackson, among the top three best-selling artists of all time, known as the King of Pop, and somebody who could’ve kept growing if not for his untimely death. He could’ve been the most popular artist of all time before his death and many people if not most believe him to be the most popular artist of all time; this song was amazing for it’s time sinking into Michael Jackson’s fame.
