“Octane” is Don Toliver’s most recent album that came out on January 30. This is Don Toliver’s fifth studio album that he has ever released. His album consists of 18 songs and is 49 minutes long. Don Toliver is known for his diverse music, as he has songs across multiple different genres.
I did really like this album to be honest. There is a lot to really like about the album as he is one of my favorite artists. Out of the 18 songs, there are multiple different genres and he does a really good job on most of those genres as almost all of the songs sound really good and fresh for him. I also appreciate how this album does not feel like any other album he has made.
A big element I did not like about the album is the last song. It tries to blend in the genre of country and he does not really do a good job on it at all. But aside from the last song, he did a good job on his album.
Overall, mainly because of the last song, that rules the album out from being a 5/5. Because of how strong the rest of the album is, I would give this album a 4/5. “Octane” is definitely in the stronger half of his catalog, and I would recommend giving the album a listen.
