Remember the horror game from 10 years ago that was based on Furbies? Well if you don’t, I’ll tell you about it.
Tattletail is a horror game that came out on December 28, 2016, and is based around the 1990s toy – the Furby.
In the game Tattletail, you play as the protagonist, an unnamed child that opens their Christmas present five days early. There are five nights that you play through.
On the first night you learn how to feed and groom Tattletail, on the second you learn how to charge him, on the third you discover that Mama Tattletail is deadly, and you play hide and seek with Butternut, Tattletail’s yellow friend, while taking care of Tattletail’s needs and running away from Mama Tattletail.
On Christmas Eve, you collect Tattletails and items and banish Mama Tattletail through a seance. On Christmas day there is two endings.
The first ending is dying to Mama, and the second is getting a Tattletail. The way you get one ending or the other is collecting hidden eggs throughout the game. If you find all the eggs, you get the good ending, but if you don’t, you get the bad ending.
A year later, a DLC was released called The Kalidescope, which distorts what happened in the first portion of the game, then tries to fix it. I love this game because it is one of the few horror games that is scary the first time around, then it turns funny and cool. I would absolutely recommend playing if you haven’t.
