With a new year comes a new year of Madden and a new cover athlete, which ended up being Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley. He had a monster season with a career high of 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns. He ranked first in carries, first in yards, and eighth in touchdowns.
The previous running backs on the Madden covers include Christian McCaffrey (Madden 25), and the last running back on the cover was Barry Sanders in 2014, with Adrian Peterson on the alternate version. Barkley will be the second Eagles player to be on the cover of a Madden game. Donovan McNabb was the first to do so in 2006; Saquan will also become the third ever Eagles player to earn a 99 overall rating.
From multiple YouTube videos I’ve seen, this is supposed to be the best Madden yet. Madden has had many years of disappointments, but hopefully this is the year.
