California college tours

Earlier this month, we toured colleges all down the coast of California, from Sacramento to Los Angeles, and here is what we thought.

We flew into San Francisco, which was very beautiful, clean, and up-to-date with trends and mindsets. We drove across the Golden Gate Bridge and headed up to the Citizen Hotel in Sacramento.

NorCal was very lush with many different types of trees, vibrant green grass, and rolling hills. Sacramento fit into the landscape perfectly; the buildings had an authentic older feel, and the downtown shops had an aesthetic look. To end our first day, Conan Gray was playing at the Golden 1 Center, so we attended and had a wonderful time.

The next day we went and toured the University of California, Davis. The campus was absolutely beautiful, filled with beach volleyball courts, an arboretum, and sculptures placed around campus. Davis has the #1 animal science program in the world, and that was very evident when we saw the on-campus farm and community cat named Cheeto.

The following day we visited Stanford and then headed to Santa Clara to see the house and community that our mom grew up in. After comparing old pictures, we made our way to Santa Barbara, which had a super cute downtown. While there, we toured University of California, Santa Barbara, and were highly unimpressed. The campus looked neglected and in need of new updates.

We spent Saturday in Los Angeles and saw the Menendez house, Rodeo drive, and Hollywood. Beverly Hills was unreal; every block smelled like designer perfume and there were girls walking chihuahuas all around us. After loving LA, we decided to move our hotel there for the last night, when we also saw the Cecil Hotel.

On our last day we visited Loyola Marymount University and Pepperdine. Both were beautiful campuses with mesmerizing views and architecture. That night, we flew out of LAX wishing we had a few more days to spend in Cali.
