Business Week, sponsored by American for the Competitive Enterprise System (ACES), has a unique way of going about things compared to other learning devices.
Juniors are organized into nine teams and are tasked with creating a company to sell a randomly assigned product while choosing CEOs, CFOs, Etc., eventually competing in Stockholders, Adverting/Marketing, trade show, and RONA (financial section) competitions, with the winning team getting a cash prize of $100 each.
I had a pretty fun group during Business Week. I enjoyed working with students in my grade that I have never really interacted with before. My advisors were Mr. Daniels and Andrew Morrison, and they were very helpful during the week. I felt like everyone in my group worked well together. Even though we had some problems throughout the week, it all turned out good in the end.
Overall, my group, Snap4, did not win any of the competitions or get honorable mentions for any of them. I didn’t really care about that, though, I was just happy that I got to have a fun week.
