[Update: Due to inclement weather, this event was rescheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 12]

The social studies department is holding its annual Veterans Day breakfast on November 11, from 9-10 a.m. in the school cafeteria.

This will be the fifth year in a row that this has been held. The breakfast is hosted by Mr. Woods’ third block honors class as a civic service project.  The entire department is involved. The breakfast gives students throughout the school a chance to be involved in the breakfast.

The entire department is involved.  Middle school history classes are designing posters and thank you cards to welcome the Veterans. Furthermore, high school history classes are developing place mats and decorations to make the place shine.

The Corry band will be playing and a Junior ROTC program from Seneca High School will be presenting the colors, which means a lot to everyone that Seneca partakes in helping because it shows that Corry has a community outside of just the town.

All veterans and their guests will have breakfast served by honors high school students. Mr. Woods said this about the event, “It’s our fifth year in this format and it’s a great opportunity to give back to our veterans who have given so much for us and our freedom.”

Overall, the Veterans Day breakfast is a good event to let the community shine, let our very own students shine, but most importantly, give back to our veterans that have given everything to make sure the we are safe and have freedoms.
