Corry is hosting this year’s Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Junior District Choir concert on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the auditorium.
PMEA Junior District Choir is an honors ensemble for students in middle-school. Students are chosen through an audition process. There will be 35 different high schools and middle schools from Erie County, Warren County, and Crawford County.
For our school there will be students from 7th grade to 9th grade participating. For 9th grade we have: Abigail Kane, Charley Gantz, Molly Harrington, Ethan Bailey, Kairi Laughery, Olivya Rastetter, Levi Williams, and Avarie Varner. For 8th grade: Lilianna Jones, Griffin Dougherty, Camilla Whiteley, Andon Styborski, Avah Rick, and Islyn Cobal. And 7th grade: William Hulings, Elise Boucher, and Fenton Fourspring.
There will be a rehearsal on Friday. This will include all the students attending from every school. They are doing this rehearsal to prepare every student to sing together with each school.
Ms. Smrcka is hoping all of these students can come together and bond over this event. This will connect the students with each other by bonding over a hobby that they all enjoy.
