Volleyball Senior Night honors key players set for graduation

October 14, the Corry volleyball team held its annual Senior Night to honor the achievements and dedication of its senior players. This event recognized and highlighted the seniors’ contributions both on and off the court.

This year’s seniors were Ava Hallberg, Brynely Watrous, and Sydney Mineo. Each senior was presented with a gift and cheered on by teammates, coaches, friends and family, making it a memorable night.

One of the three seniors, Ava Hallberg, is a setter on the high school team. She has been playing for eight years. Ava is also a part of the track team, but aside from sports, she is a member of the National Honors Society.

The second senior, Brynley Watrous, a key component to the team, is the starting libero, and has been playing for nine years. Along with volleyball, Brynley is involved in track, National Tech Honor Society, National Honor Society, Student ambassador, and Student mentor.

Finally, the last senior, Sydney Mineo, a ds/libero, has been playing volleyball for six years. Aside from volleyball, Sydney is a key player for the Corry softball team, and is a part of the National Tech Honor Society, National Honors Society, student ambassador, student mentor, and Safeline organization.

Looking forward, the seniors shared their plans for the future. Ava plans on attending college and going into the medical field. Brynley plans to attend college to get a nursing degree and later become a CRNA after high school. And finally, Sydney plans to attend college to become a Physician’s Assistant.

As the night came to an end, not only were these three seniors celebrated for their accomplishments on the court, but also for their leadership and spirit they brought to the team.
