This year was Corry Area High School’s 29th annual spring musical. This year’s musical was “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown.”
It was put on by Corry students in grades 9-12, Assistant Director/Choreographer Alyssa Britten, and Head Director/Music Director Kimberly Smrcka. The last time Corry did this play was back in 2009. This play consisted of various scenes from the Charlie Brown movies, but with a musical twist.
The show was held at the Corry Area Middle-High School auditorium. There were two showings, which were on Friday, May 2, and Saturday, May 3, both at 7 p.m. There were two acts, and 33 songs were played within the two acts. This play isn’t very big, so the cast was small.
This year’s cast consisted of Landon Hasbrouck as Charlie Brown, Angelica Cressley as Snoopy, Ava Wetherbee as Lucy, Luke Hurd as Schroeder, Joseph Johnston as Linus, Clara Harrington as Sally, Ava Whiteley as Woodstock #1, Ellie Simmons as Woodstock #2, and Mercedes Cubero as Woodstock #3 and Little Red-Haired Girl; Noah West as Shermy; Emily Freeland as Peppermint Patty.
The baseball team and ensemble were Charly Amburgy, Cressley, Cubero, Emily Freeman, Harrington, Hasbrouck, Cooper Hodak, Hurd, Johnston, Emily Jones, Joseph Kondrlik, Alana Sacchetti, Ellie Simmons, Noah West, Ava Wetherbee, and Ava Whiteley.
Others who helped out with the play behind the scenes were conductor Smrckra; sound Tristan McCray; and lighting Britten.
Stage crew: Ethan Behm and Tyler Biondi; spotlight, Nick Hodak.
