On April 11, 2025, The Corry Unified Track and Field team, along with the Key Club, traveled to Erie to partake in the Polar Plunge to raise funding for the Unified Track budget next year.
The Polar Plunge is an event hosted by Special Olympics, the main sponsors of Unified Sports. There are several different types of plunge. In the past, the team has run forward into Lake Erie during winter months. This year, however, team members jumped into a pool.
There are also similar events, one of which is the fire department lining up their trucks along a length and spray water upwards, and volunteers run through the “rain” created.
Students were sponsored and received shirts and extra money for the team, and pizza was provided for participants.
