Over this weekend, Mac and I watched the movie “Juno” for the first time. Some actors included in this film are Jennifer Garner, Michael Cera, Jason Bateman, and Elliot Page. These performers worked really well together, which really helped enhance the movie all together.
In this movie, a young girl named Juno ends up pregnant and decides she would like to give her baby up for adoption to a family that struggled to have children. At the beginning of the film, Juno is no longer with her boyfriend, but by the end of the film, they are back together, which really adds great development to the storyline.
Watching as Juno navigates pregnancy in high school and seeing her make the hard decision to give it up for adoption is so inspiring and uplifting. Seeing someone so young do something so mature really sends a good message to the viewers.
There were many things Mac and I liked about this movie. For example, we both loved the humor in the movie because it made the movie so much more enjoyable than it already was. Another thing we both loved was the music. Every song in the film was adorable and so catchy. The storyline was very clever and almost risky because you don’t see a lot of people discussing teen pregnancy, especially in the early 2000s.
It was refreshing to watch a movie that had a different concept than most. With all this being said, there was not much that we didn’t like about the movie. Other than the fact that it was a little inappropriate at times, it was great for a little movie night.
We would both rate it 4.5/5 because there wasn’t much we didn’t like, but obviously it’s not perfect and there can always be improvements.
