[Warning: This article contains spoilers for season 4, episodes 6-7 of “Invincible”!!!!]
Episode 6: “You Look Horrible”
Conquest’s Fate: The episode begins with Omni Man burying Conquest on a deserted planet, marking the grave with rocks in the shape of the Viltrumites symbol.
Mark’s Recovery: Mark has been in a coma for two months following his brutal fight with Conquest. During this time,Omni Man and Oliver bond while nursing him back to healthyness.
Talescria Under Attack: Grand Regent Thragg launches a devastating surprise attack on Talescria, the Coalition’s capital, aided by a mole who lowers the planet’s defenses of viltrumite nature.
The Return: Just as Coalition leaders like Thaedus and Allen the Alien are being overwhelmed by Viltrumites (including general Anissa and general Kregg), Mark, Nolan, (Omni man) and Oliver arrive to repel the invaders. Mark demonstrates his power growth by knocking out Anissa with a single hit.
The Final Target: After the Viltrumites’ retreat, Thaedus decides the Coalition must strike Planet Viltrum immediately before Thragg can regroup his soldiers.
Episode 7: “Don’t Do Anything Rash”
Travelling to Viltrum: Most of the episode focuses on the “quiet before the storm” as the Coalition fleet travels to the Viltrumite home world, Viltrum.
Moral Conflicts: A deep tension grows between Nolan and Thaedus. Thaedus is determined to commit a “Great Purge” to wipe out the remaining Viltrumite race to save the galaxy, while Nolan, now a father to two Viltrumite sons, is horrified and conflicted by the prospect of total genocide.
Thragg’s Backstory: Flashbacks reveal Thragg’s history and the aftermath of Emperor Argall’s assassination, by The Great betrayer (Thaedus). These scenes show Thragg once had a more reasonable side and a past respect for Thaedus before his descent into complete tyrannical leadership.
The War Begins: The episode ends with the Coalition fleet arriving at Planet Viltrum, initiating the final, all-out battle against the Viltrumite Empire.
