To begin, we warmed up stretching and getting loose to prepare for the Tigers. Then they began the senior announcements recognizing everyone and their favorite moments. My favorite moment mentioned by the seniors would be when we won our homecoming game against Mercyhurst prep 40-37. After that we headed into the locker room to get our heads right and prepare for a tough-fought game against the Fairview Tigers.
The atmosphere for the game was incredible. Fans were cheering the players on and the Beaver defense would not let up any points. Connor Sterling had an impressive game scoring two touchdowns, a four-yard receiving touchdown, and a six-yard rushing touchdown. This really set the Beavers ahead of Fairview with the first half ending in a score of 14-0. Then the Beavers finished the job holding the Tigers to three points the entire game concluding to a 28-3 victory.
After the game, everyone lined up as the senior football and cheerleaders walked down the field. The environment felt very emotional as this could have been the last game the seniors cheered and played at Sheen Field. The players and cheerleaders took many pictures and tears were shed, but all the parents and coaches were proud and can’t wait to see what comes next for these young kids.
Finally, everyone celebrated in the locker room and had a great time doing what they love best.
