Last year, I went to the mountains with my cousins. We just wanted a short break. We packed food, water, and warm clothes, then we drove there in the early morning.
The drive was quiet. We played music and looked at the trees. The air smelled fresh. It felt good to get out of our towns. When we got there, we went on a hike. The trail was not too hard, but we still got tired. We stopped to rest and drink water. I saw a deer, and we heard birds singing. It was peaceful, and felt refreshing. At the top of the hill, we sat on a big rock and ate our sandwiches. The view was beautiful. We didn’t say much. We just looked at the mountains and the sky.
That night, we stayed in a small cabin. It was simple but warm. We played cards and talked until we got sleepy. In the morning, we decided to get some breakfast from the local diner. It was good, and we stayed there a little longer because there was an interesting sports game on. Later on we left the mountains and we hit the road to go back home.
