On February 4 the Corry Boys Basketball Team hosted a Charity night to help benefit the families of Tyler Sherman, Avery Sontheimer, and Molly Turner. The Basketball Team was hosting Ft. Leboeuf and the Corry Journal sponsored the night, so anyone who wore black was able to get in free. There were #CorryStrong t-shirts, sweatshirts and bracelets available for sale at the game. There were 50/50 tickets, donation boxes, basket raffles and corn-hole boards. All profits were going to be divided for the three families.
It was a truly amazing turn out. Whether it was making a basket for the raffle, making the cornhole boards, working the tables all night, or just showing up and donating, so many people came out to show their support,. The gym was packed full of supportive Beavers and, although the boys fell to the Bison, Corry still won with an extremely successful night for an amazing cause. Overall, the night was extremely successful, with the help from our supportive community showing up to support the three families.
During half time the Corry Volleyball team was recognized for their successful season as they are the state runners-up. There was also a Soup and Salad to raise money for the Baseball teams upcoming season prior to the Charity Night.
