Baby gender bombs

Baby gender bombs

Gender reveal parties are a fairly recent phenomenon that has circulated on the internet. These aren’t just any ordinary gender reveals though, they involve big colorful explosions of smoke and fireworks that reveal a color of blue or pink. These reveals are so extreme that there has been destruction of climate, death, and harm to many. These aren’t parties that these families are planning…it’s mass destruction.

On September 5, 2020, a couple was anticipating the gender of their child to come, by using a pyrotechnic device, of course. This Gatsby-like gender reveal caused 23,000 acres of California to go up in flames. The Eldorado fire blazed through San Bernardino for 23 days causing region temperatures to skyrocket 15 to 20 degrees above normal. But hey, at least we know they’re having a boy, right? The couple was charged with up to 30 crimes that involved one felony count of involuntary manslaughter, three felony counts of recklessly causing a fire with great bodily injury, four felony counts of recklessly causing a fire to inhabited structures and 22 misdemeanor counts of recklessly causing fire to property of another according to The Guardian

Our next gender reveal takes place in Mexico. A couple had gotten a plane to drop 350 tons of gender water. A plane. An actual plane, with 350 tons of water. That sounds like a reasonable, practical idea. This extravaganza was being recorded, but caught something far more disastrous. After the plane had dropped pink water revealing that the baby was a girl, the wing of the plane snapped. This caused the plane to take a nosedive into the ground. The pilot was taken to the hospital but unfortunately did not survive this horrific accident.

As if people couldn’t get enough of explosive gender reveals, New Hampshire experienced a boom that shook the earth, literally. These gender revealers used 80 pounds of explosives. They chose a quarry to detonate these explosives because they figured it would be a safe location. Listen, If you have to detonate something, it’s probably not safe at all, buddy. This blast disrupted tremors that residents living near the quarry believed transpired from an earthquake. According to CNN a woman they interviewed claimed that there were cracks in her home’s foundation because of the blast. There were many unsettled by the effect it had on homes, the community, and neighbors.

Another casually homemade gender bomb was the cause of a fatal accident. This accident involves a “pipe bomb” that would reveal colored smoke, only it caused a soon-to-be grandmother to get struck in the head with flying shrapnel after an error with the explosive. There was gunpowder inside causing the device to send deadly metal airborne. This poor woman was instantly killed on impact. Abcnews supported a quote from a local sheriff that stated “Our investigation showed that members of the Kreimeyer family were experimenting with different types of explosive material on Friday and Saturday in an attempt to record a gender reveal that could be posted on social media for friends and family.” When did people get the idea that they could safely engineer an explosive device?

At the end of the day, stop making gender baby bombs. You’d think you wouldn’t have to tell someone that, but it seems like people can’t control themselves. There are many more horror stories on gender reveal parties that took it too over the top to stay safe, so don’t become one of them. If you want to do something fun to reveal your future baby gender, create a game or cut open a cake. Maybe, just maybe, don’t create a lethal homemade bomb.
