My 2023 vacation to Utah and Colorado

My+2023+vacation+to+Utah+and+Colorado

About this time last year my family and I decided that we were going to Colorado and Utah for our vacation.

We’d been trying to figure out what time and where to go for our 2023 trip. We had been debating on going to Alaska or Colorado and Utah, but since we’re going to go to Alaska next year, we went with Colorado and Utah. As soon as we made this final decision, I was beyond excited for this, but extremely nervous for the plane rides. Time to bring you along with my experiences with this amazing, memorable trip!

As soon as my mom got out of work and home, we began to pack the car up and head on our way to the hotel in Cleveland. This was the most sketchy hotel I’ve ever been to, but it was the closest one to the airport with a shuttle. When we went to the airport, my mom and I  had to go through security all alone because my stepdad is a pilot, so he doesn’t need to go through the long security line that we have to go through. I was extremely nervous that I was going to get kidnapped. We landed safely in Denver and settled into my cousin’s house. Overall, I thought Colorado was very pretty, but a little boring. We drove to Durango, which took way longer than it needed to be because my parents wanted to sight see a little bit. The next morning we were on our way to the train station. We rode a massive, old, steam engine to an old town called Silverton, one of the best ways to end our trip in Colorado.

We had an extremely long drive to Moab from Durango, I’d say about eight hours. I cannot even begin to explain how beautiful Utah is. The rocks are crazy gorgeous, and you can see on for what seems like forever. We went to the National Arches Park, as well as Dead Horse Cannon, and both came with a lot of hiking, and I mean a lot. We also went trail riding on side by sides, and man was that awesome. I even made a friend with our tour guide, Gage. When we got back to the hotel every night, everyone would pass out right away. We got back to Denver after about a week in Utah and safely made it home. Since being in Utah, that’s where I want to eventually move to when I get done with schooling after college. I can’t wait to go back in two years!
