The movie “Dune: Part Three” is scheduled to be released in theaters in the United States on December 18, 2026.
“Dune: Part Three” is the third film in director Denis Villeneuve’s Dune series and is based on the book “Dune Messiah” by Frank Herbert. The film continues the story from “Dune” (2021) and “Dune: Part Two” (2024). It is planned as the final part of Villeneuve’s Dune movie trilogy.
Many actors from the first two films are returning. Timothée Chalamet plays Paul Atreides and Zendaya plays Chani. The cast also includes Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, Rebecca Ferguson, and Javier Bardem. Robert Pattinson appears in a new role in this film.
Production work on the movie began in July 2025 in Europe and was completed in November 2025. Parts of the film were shot using traditional film and some sequences were filmed with IMAX cameras.
Composer Hans Zimmer, who worked on the earlier movies, is also credited for the music. A trailer for “Dune: Part Three” was released in March 2026. The trailer shows new scenes and characters and confirms the December release date.
After the events of the first two films, the next installment continues to explore political and personal challenges Paul Atreides faces. The film adapts the next part of the original book series. Dune: Part Three is planned for theatrical release and is not currently scheduled for streaming at the same time.
