Christina Lynn Nordland is a substitute teacher making an impact on her students. Born on January 24, 1997, in State College, Pennsylvania, Christina’s journey has included many interests and passions for learning.
Christina’s educational experience includes: Grace Prep High School, PA Cyber, South River College, Lancaster College, and MMR’s college program as well.
Outside of school and teaching, she enjoys many hobbies. You could find her riding or training horses, creating beautiful cross-stitch pieces, trying out various new recipes in her kitchen, strengthening her faith, and even partaking in karate.
Family is also very important to Christina, who has two siblings: a brother, David, 28, and a sister, Terena, 25.
Once, Christina dreamed of being a lawyer. However, her life led her to education, where she enjoys the connections she makes with each child. “I got into this job because I enjoy getting kids that I care about every day,” she said.
Christina enjoys traveling to every place she can! She expressed a desire to visit somewhere in England, London, or maybe even Sweden, where her husband’s family originated from. She also is quite excited for her upcoming anniversary trip to Acadia National park in Maine. An ideal vacation for her would be going to a bunch of national parks. It’s safe to say she enjoys learning and exploring deciduous locations.
One thing that makes Christina upset is when people don’t follow rules.
A quote she’d want the reader to take with them is, “Be careful who you hang out with, because bad company corrupts good morals.”
Flexibility is another thing Christina enjoys about subbing, saying, “I enjoy the flexibility that subbing offers.” She also expressed how her mother had taught and that she also wants to be a good influence on the kids she meets and teaches.
If you see Mrs. Nordland in the halls, be sure to say hi, and maybe you’ll create a long-lasting friendship!
