Mr. Carney is a social studies teacher here at Corry High School. His birthday is May 15 and he has three siblings. He not only teaches at Corry now, but he also went here, too.
When Mr. Carney was younger, he wanted to be a fire fighter, but it seems to me that those plans didn’t float exactly how he thought they would. Mr. Carney was in the military; while there, a supervisor saw his skills and told him he should become a teacher after the military. He then attended Mercyhurst University, where he studied history and secondary education.
Growing up he played football, basketball, and he did track and field. Playing football in high school gave him the inspiration and passion to coach football.
When asked what some of his favorite things are he said that his favorite movies are the “Gladiator” films, his favorite color is blue, and his favorite emotion is happy. He would also love to visit Ireland to hunt red stag and explore the different sites. When asked what animal he thought he was most like, he said elephant.
Mr. Carney enjoys playing and watching football, go hunting, and spend time with family. He loves those last two things so much that he planned on doing those this next coming break.
