Even though it’s only the beginning of December, Christmas is being widely celebrated/anticipated early this year. Now there are many amazing Christmas movies one could cover like: “ELF,” “Home Alone,” “Rudolph,” or even the “Polar Express.” But, I think many could agree that “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” is one of the best of all time.
“The Grinch” is about a green “What” who hates Christmas because his heart is “two times too small.” He resides on Mt. Crumpet, and devises a plan to steal Christmas away from the Whos. Now depending on the movie, I’m talking about the live action one with actor and comedian Jim Carrey. Cindy-Lou tries her best to help him. She nominates him for the holiday cheermeister and attempts to change him for good, and ends up changing some Whos views on The Grinch. But, it all fails, because he steals Christmas anyway. We also get multiple points of views in this movie, which I think is nice, because in the original one, it’s mostly quiet.
I personally love “How The Grinch Stole Christmas.” It’s very funny and has an amazing message. The message of the movie is that the true meaning of Christmas isn’t about presents but family, love, and joy. I also prefer this one to the other ones because Jim Carrey is just so funny. That’s why I give it a 5/5. But, what I could never wrap my head around is why all of the Whos were so scared of him. Yes, he got very angry and startled some kids and then ran away, but he was a kid! Why is the whole town scared of him? He is just a What that stays to himself and despises Christmas. That I’ll probably never know, but I do know the movie “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” is an amazing movie and you should definitely add it to your holiday watch list.
