This week, we’re featuring new art teacher Ashley McKuhn, an artist and outdoors lover from Sparty, Pennsylvania. McKuhn was born on March 20, 1984, and grew up with her younger brother, who’s now 40. She went to Youngsville High School, and while she used to be into music, she realized art was her real passion.
When she’s not creating, McKuhn loves spending time outside—hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, and just exploring nature. She’s also dreaming of visiting Australia and New Zealand someday, mainly because she loves the adventure and beauty of those places.
McKuhn is a fan of Lord of the Rings and says her favorite color is blue. One of her favorite quotes is “Creativity takes courage” by Henri Matisse, which really sums up how she approaches her life and work.
Her advice for students? “Don’t take high school so seriously, and don’t let your emotions get in the way.”
Looking ahead to her next vacation days, McKuhn just plans to sleep in and recharge.
Ashley McKuhn might be an artist, but she’s also just a regular person who loves the outdoors, enjoys some downtime, and isn’t afraid to follow her passions.
