Have you ever seen any of the art outside the art room on display? Well, some of that art may have been created by a good friend of mine, Ava Whiteley. Ava loves art and is a very talented individual, which I thought would make her the perfect person for a spotlight!
Ava was born on June 23, 2007. In her free time, Ava enjoys making art, playing soccer, doing cheer, and musical theater. She has two younger sisters: Sarah, who is 14, and Camilla, who is 13. When asked about what places she would like to visit and why, Ava said that she would love to visit all of the national parks here in the U.S. to see all the amazing sights. Ava’s favorite movie isn’t one movie in particular, it’s a bunch from a franchise! Ava loves the “Jurassic Park/Jurassic World” films, and just can’t decide which one she likes best. She loves them all! It took her a bit to think about what her favorite song was but then she found her answer, “I, Carrion” by Hozier.
I also asked Ava what her favorite color was and she said green, which makes sense seeing how stunning she looked in that green prom dress! Out of all the emotions that there are to feel, Ava said that her favorite one has to be excitement, and I think that emotion represents her perfectly. When we discussed if she had any upcoming vacation plans, Ava told me that she and her family were going to Tennessee to see the Smokey Mountains. I’ve been to Tennessee twice and love it there, so it is definitely a great vacation pick!
Ava’s favorite quote out of any famous quotes is “When things don’t go right, go left.”- Lemony Snicket. If you saw her senior picture and quote in the yearbook, you may recognize that this is the same one she used. It’s a great one!
I then asked Ava what animal she felt represented her the best and she said that she felt a bird represented her the best, which I can definitely see. Ava is a pro at making bird noises. When asked what her idea of a perfect vacation was, she replied that she would love to do lots of touristy things and be out in nature. Sounds pretty fun to me! Ava also said that her idea of a perfect date is going out to a restaurant for dinner and then doing a fun activity afterwards.
Out of all the classes that Ava has taken over the years, she told me that her favorite one was her Advanced Painting class taught by Ms. Turk. Also, her favorite food is 100% Little Caesars Pizza, which I think is a great choice as well.
Ava has done multiple sports over the years, but the main ones she stuck to were soccer and cheer, specifically basketball cheer, which she did this year. Ava told me that her biggest pet peeve is having to repeat things, which I can definitely agree on. I get aggravated when I have to repeat things, too. Finally, when I asked if she had any words for the readers, Ava said to stay active and involved.
