- “Assassin’s Creed Origins” (2017)
A great Role-playing game, with an amazing story involving Bayek of Siwa finding the men responsible for the death of his son. The game itself has amazing graphics, gameplay and even customization. There’s a tree with many different skills to attribute to builds that fit you as the player. The game may seem grounded at first, but the more the level up Bayek the more action and fantastical elements come into play. However, if you are a long-time “Assassin’s Creed” fan, this game may not come to you like it does for new fans, but the next game will most certainly come to any fans of “Assassin’s Creed.”
- “Assassin’s Creed: Unity” (2014)
A true “Assassin’s Creed” game, this one can appeal to any fan. With a combination of combat and gameplay from the old games and the new ones, Assassin’s Creed: Unity has a perfect split between old and new. Following in the footsteps of Arno Dorian, you find yourself in the midst of the French Revolution, from 1776 to 1794. The game starts with a young Arno taking a trip with his father to the Palace of Versailles, where his father would have him sit down on a chair and wait patiently while he went away for a while. At some point, Arno finds his father dead on the ground, and this changes him forever.
- “Far Cry 4” (2014)
Made by Ubisoft – the same developers that made the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise – this game is an open world first person shooter. The main protagonist is Ajay Ghale, a Nepali-American ex-military hero who came to Kyrat (The game’s setting) with a task to spread his late mother’s ashes. On his way back to his homeland, his convoy is stopped by the new leader of Kyrat, Pagan Min, who recognizes Ajay through knowing his mother many years prior. Overall, a great action adventure game with multiple secrets that’ll keep you playing for hours!
- “Cyberpunk 2077” (2020)
Made by the same developers that made “The Witcher” series, Cyberpunk is a dark futuristic first-person shooter set in the world of Night City. You perceive the world as V, a highly customizable character (Keyword Highly) that you can develop with multiple choices to be made throughout the game. The game has an experience system with multiple upgrades to be made to not only V’s arsenal but his own body as well. When this game first came out, it originally received mixed reviews. Most of the fanbase would complain that the game had been too “buggy” and the attention to detail was just not there. Over time, however, the developers would fix the game with multiple updates, improving its stability and adding quality of life improvements.
- “Destiny” (2014)
“Destiny” is a first person shooter RPG set in the distant future. The game was created by the same developers who made games like “Halo: Combat Evolved” and the Call of Duty franchise. The Main Protagonist is a “Guardian”, super soldiers made to fight Alien Invaders known as “The Fallen”, though there are many more species of invaders to be fought in the game itself. At first the game may seem rather repetitive, but the more you level up, the more interesting your outcomes will be.
- “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” (2019)
A fast paced first person shooter created by Activision and directed by Infinity Ward. This game was revolutionary for the franchise, bringing a new movement system with tactical sprinting, slide canceling and bunny hopping. Those experienced at the game can use this new and advanced movement system to their advantage, and their enemies will have no idea where to aim. This, however, had been the last “Call of Duty” game to get steady reviews, as the games after its release would lean towards the negative side in terms of fans’ opinions.
- “Resident Evil 2: Remake” (2019)
A modernized revamp and reimagining of Capcom’s classic “Resident Evil 2″ (1998). This game is a definite recommendation to horror fans out there. Its balanced gameplay with monsters and zombies will have you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. The game follows Leon Scott Kennedy and Claire Redfield, two people who had gotten themselves involved amidst Raccoon City, a small city that had been overrun with a virus that turned everyone into flesh-eating zombies. They must fight through the zombie hordes and trailing mini-bosses to escape.
- “Red Dead Redemption 2” (2018)
Now this game is a killer! An immersive western shooter made by Rockstar games (The same people who made “Grand Theft Auto V”), and it follows the footsteps of Arthur Morgan, troubled cowboy outlaw who finds himself in 1899 America, running from the law in the midst of the Van der Linde gang led by his adopted father, Dutch van der Linde. You as the player get to decide Arthur’s choices, which will ultimately affect how the game ends. Will you be honorable? Or dishonorable? The choice is yours.
- “Resident Evil 4: Remake” (2023)
Another remake to one of Capcom’s masterpieces (“Resident Evil 4” 2005), “Resident Evil 4: Remake” tells its story in the point of view of Leon Scott Kennedy, who is much more experienced when it comes to monster hunting, but even this mission proved to be of much hardship to him. Leon is now a government agent tasked with rescuing the president’s daughter, Ashley Graham, who was kidnapped by a cult known as Los Illuminados, set in Spain. This task is much worse than Raccoon City, but Leon won’t give up that easily.
- “Dragon’s Dogma 2” (2024)
A true masterpiece, “Dragon’s Dogma 2″ is the experience RPG fans need. With an in depth character customization and fast-paced and stylish combat, this game is one of the best ones out there. The game follows in the footsteps of yourself (I didn’t make that up, you can literally create yourself), who has the courage to stand up against a giant red dragon. Alas, you are defeated by it, and the dragon rips your heart directly from your chest, making you an “Arisen”; A title in the game’s legendary lore where the Chosen One has to prove that their will is true, and slay the dragon with pure grit and strength. Overall, a true game-changer for RPG fans, its awesome combat and open world gameplay will have you drooling at the mouth for more!
