Harper Spence is currently an 8th grade student who was born on February 16, 2011, and she’s lived in Corry her whole life. She said that some of her hobbies consist of sleeping and going to the gym.
She plays two sports, swim and softball. She has one sister, Mackenzie Spence, who is 18 and is attending East Stroudsburg University.
Harper said she wants to be a physical therapist or a chiropractor when she is older, and she answered that with the money from those jobs she would like to go to Hawaii. Her plans for Hawaii are to go scuba diving and see sea turtles. Then, she said for upcoming vacation days, she is planning on seeing her sister at college and has a family vacation to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
When I asked Harper about some of her favorite things, such as movie, song, color, emotion, and food, she answered with: “Fast and Furious 6,” “Superpowers” by Daniel Caesar, green, surprised, and mac and cheese.
She said that her favorite class was Mr. Coates in 7th grade. Harper’s perfect date would be a summer night with a campfire and country music. She answered that her idea of a perfect vacation would be going to a national park and hiking by herself, during the sunrise specifically. She said her favorite quote is, “You can’t use old keys to open new doors.”
She also was asked what animal she would match her personality to, which she answered with an aye-aye. An aye-aye is a “long-fingered lemur… with rodent-like teeth.” Then I also asked what her biggest pet peeve is, and she said, “When someone says they’ll do something then don’t do it.”
Her advice to her readers is, “Be nice to people because you don’t know what they’re going through.”
