Tyler Silka was born August 20. He was raised with his four siblings, Sara, Meghan, Ashley, and Joshua. They all vary in age and grew up in Corry.
In Silka’s free time he enjoys fishing, cars, and working on his house. This is very interesting for him as these are his main hobbies and interests. Plus, Silka has a love for sports, but he isn’t playing any currently.
After graduating from Corry Area High School in the year 2010, he started his next step in life at Gannon University along with Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and Edinboro-PennWest University of Pennsylvania. After getting his degree he can now state that being a teacher was a great job for him. He enjoys teaching science and fosters a love for the subject in his heart.
Although working with children is fun for him, he also has thoughts of retiring when growing up. Silka has some thoughts about traveling to anywhere in the world while experiencing different cultures and people. He wants to learn more and more about new things. When asking him about his upcoming vacation days, all that came to mind was more fishing and working at home. Silka’s dream would be going fishing somewhere like Jeremy Wade in River Monsters because it sounds fun.
When asked about his favorite movie, he said it would be “The Lion King” and his favorite music is anything, but mostly ACDC. Speaking of music, his idea of a perfect date would be a well-scheduled timing throughout the night of going to a concert and getting some great food, maybe Thai or Chinese because they are two different things, but also his favorite.
His biggest pet peeve is something occurring often during his favorite classes Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy, and Forensics: students who are not listening, turning in homework late, or who do not read the directions. Silka has a passion for these subjects and wants the students to succeed, so when they don’t it becomes a bother.
He would like to leave the readers with his own advice: “My advice is to always do your best even when no one else is looking!”
