Nicko McBrain has been the drummer for the metal band Iron Maiden since their 1982 album “Piece of Mind.” On December 7, however, he announced he would be parting ways with the band shortly after their live show in Sao Paulo.
This decision came after he suffered a stroke last year which has left him partially paralyzed. The band has expressed their gratitude towards McBrain, saying, “Nicko is and will always be part of the Maiden family.”
With McBrain, the band has released 14 studio albums. Futhermore, they have gone to 59 countries, done over 2000 concerts, and have played for millions of fans, all with the help of Nicko McBrain.
Even though many fans will be upset by this news, it is ultimately for the better to let this legend get some well deserved rest.
