This past weekend I went with some family members to see ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” This movie features many talented actors such as Lauren Graham, Judy Greer, Molly Belle Wright, and Beatrice Schneider. These four are the main characters in this movie and did a great job portraying their roles.
This film is a great option for family movie night. It’s based on the book written by Barbara Robinson, and the filmmakers did an excellent job matching the book to the movie. It’s about a small town that always puts on a Christmas pageant at their local church. However, things get a little different when the director of the pageant gets an injury, and the six biggest trouble-makers in town want lead roles. As the story unfolds, we watch a little girl, Beth, and her mother step up and show people how to treat others with kindness and love. This movie is a great reminder of the Christmas story, and what Christmas truly is all about.
I really liked the message that this film portrayed. I think many children that watch this will be influenced by it in a good way. The film also had lots of great moments of humor that would mostly appeal to those of a younger audience, but also gives those who are older a good laugh as well.
There were little-to-no things I didn’t like about this film. It’s family-friendly and a heartwarming Christmas movie that everyone can enjoy.
