Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” is the perfect sequel to a great classic. The horror/comedy movie was released to the world September 6, 2024.
This film follows Lydia Deetz and her journey as a mother. After her father’s passing, Lydia Deetz and her family return home to their old house to mourn her father. As the family is there, trouble strikes when her daughter, Astrid Deetz, discovers a portal to the afterlife. Desperate for his help to get Astrid back, Lydia decides to call Beetlejuice to her side. He then agrees to help her, but for a price.
It was very cool to watch this movie in theaters because of all the effects and music. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie as a sequel to the original. One thing that I really liked was the addition of new characters. Another thing that I liked was that they didn’t try to make Astrid relatable to Gen Z. In so many newer movies they are trying to make the teenagers relatable, but it never is executed correctly.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is rated PG-13. I would agree with this rating because there is some bloody/gory content, as well as violence and strong language. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who has watched the original. I might not recommend this movie to anyone who doesn’t like dark humor or to young children who wouldn’t understand most jokes made in the movie.
If I were to rate this movie I would give it 4/5 stars, because it was not a typical movie that I would personally watch, but it was very enjoyable for me. I think this did the original movie justice.
