Remembering Stacey Reynolds

Remembering Stacey Reynolds

Stacey Reynolds, a beloved educator, passed away on May 8, 2024, after battling cancer. No matter who knew her, people describe Stacey as someone who was filled with fun, kindness, and a dedication to her family and community.

The late Lauren L. Shreve and Jacqueline Gatesman brought Stacey into this world on November 4, 1965 in Corry, PA. She continued to live in Corry throughout her life where she made lifelong friendships and many cherished memories.

Stacey graduated from Corry Area High School in 1984. After graduating, she continued her education at Clarion University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Then she attended Edinboro University where she got another Bachelor of Science in Secondary English Education.

Stacey used her degrees to become a teacher at Corry Area High School where she taught English for 20 years. She not only was a treasured educator but also a source of inspiration for many generations of students. During her time as a teacher, she was able to connect with students on a deeper level, making each feel valued. Her philosophy in life was to give people second chances and that everyone had potential.  She also believed in the purity in people’s intention. She truly made her classroom a place of laughter, empathy, and comfort.

Although Stacey was committed to teaching, she was an avid reader and loved ’80s music. Her favorite was Billy Idol. She also enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, watching birds, and watching her sons in their activities. She had a special place in her heart for Arts and Music.

Stacey spent her days always checking on and helping others in any way she could. She loved her dogs, Bella, Oscar, Rosie, Blackie, and Harry. She also was a member at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Corry.

In addition to her father, Stacey was preceded in death by her step-father, Thomas P. Gatesman and two aunts, Debbie Hajec and Betty Bowen. She was a loving parent to Austin and Mason Reynolds, a cherished sibling to Lauren T. Shreve, Christy(James) Carucci, and Thomas J. Gatesman, wife to Douglas Reynolds, and her partner Scott Hamilton. She adored her nieces Claire, Maria, and Gwenneth Carucci. She created a life filled with laughter, where love was infinite, and memories were treasured.
