My top 10 favorite Christmas songs

My top 10 favorite Christmas songs

I start feeling the presence of Christmas right after Thanksgiving. To really get me in the Christmas spirit, I started to listen to Christmas music. Of all the songs out there, there are a special few who really touch my heart. Here is the list of those few songs.

  1. “Santa Tell Me” by Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande did a very good job at singing this song, however, I did become bored of it after a while. This may be due to me listening to it over and over. Even though I get bored of it, it is still a nice treat to hear on the radio every now and again.

  1. “Last Christmas” by Wham!

You may have heard “Last Christmas” sung by many other artists, but Wham! is the original. Nothing beats this original because one of the singers wrote the song himself. When another artist creates a Christmas album, they always include “Last Christmas,” proving how good the song is.

  1. “Carol of the Bells” by Trans-Siberian Orchestra

When you think of an orchestra you probably don’t think of guitars or flashing lights. Well, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is made up of these. This is my favorite song of theirs and even though there are no words, it is a really good song.

  1. “Up On The House Top” by The Jackson 5

This song was mainly sang by Michael Jackson when he was 12. He was the main vocalist among four of his other siblings. His voice is incredibly strong for a 12-year-old, which contributes to the song overall. This is my favorite rendition of the song so far.

  1. “Christmas Tree Farm” by Taylor Swift

This song by Taylor Swift is one of a kind because it is her own song about her growing up on her little Christmas tree farm in West Reading Pennsylvania. The song is just so sweet and the music video shows videos of her when she was younger.

  1. “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)” by Alvin & The Chipmunks/David Seville

This song is so cute with the cute little chipmunk voices. It perfectly shows how energetic they are, especially Alvin. This song always gets stuck in my head.

  1. “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” by Elmo & Patsy

This song brings me back to the hilarious cartoon movie of the same name. Whenever this song comes on the radio I can’t help but sing along.

  1. “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” by Pentatonix

Pentatonix is known for not using any instruments and only using their voices. This song is my favorite out of all of their other songs. Something about this song hits me right in the chest as it is sung so perfectly.

  1. “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey

This song is the first song that everyone thinks about when it is Christmas time as it has been around since 1994. Mariah Carey is an absolutely amazing singer and brings this song to life. Countless jokes and memes have been made about this song as it has reached the number one spot on The Billboard Hot 100 for many years around Christmas time. However, it has been overplayed.

  1. “Underneath the Tree” by Kelly Clarkson

This song takes number one because it is very energetic and encompasses the Christmas spirit. Kelly Clarkson hits the high notes bringing so much enthusiasm to the whole song. I believe that this song deserves way more attention than it already has as it is covered up by more popular songs.
