Grading the Browns draft class

The Cleveland Browns came into the 2026 NFL Draft with clear needs and they nailed them right away. With the 9th pick, they took Spencer Fano, a versatile offensive tackle who can immediately help protect the quarterback and stabilize the line. Then at pick 24, they grabbed KC Concepcion, giving the offense a much-needed playmaker. Right off the bat, they solved two of their biggest problems: the offensive line and the wide receiver room in the first round alone.

What really makes this draft elite is how strong they were on Day 2. Getting Denzel Boston in the second round was a huge steal. He’s a big-bodied receiver who complements Concepcion perfectly, giving the Browns a completely rebuilt receiver room. Then they added Emmanuel McNeil-Warren who has been talked about as maybe the steal of the draft. He’s a physical safety who can contribute right away, especially in run defense. They even kept building depth with linemen like Austin Barber, showing they weren’t just drafting stars but that they were building a complete, deep roster.

Finally, the later rounds tied everything together and boosted the long-term upside. Players like Parker Brailsford added interior line depth, while Taylen Green gives them a high-upside developmental quarterback option, the athletic linebacker Justin Jefferson, and then two new tight ends in Joe Royer and Carson Ryan. The Browns didn’t just draft for one season they built for the future while still improving immediately.

When you combine elite early picks, major steals in the middle rounds, and smart depth later on, I would give the Browns draft an A+.
