Deion Canady was used to being overlooked. He worked long nights as a maintenance guy in a research lab downtown, fixing wires and cleaning up messes no one else wanted to deal with. It wasn’t exciting, but it paid the bills. One night, though, something changed. While repairing a broken panel in a restricted area, he heard glass crack behind him. Before he could turn around, a strange, glowing spider dropped from a shattered container and bit his hand. The pain hit instantly, sharp and burning, and the last thing he remembered was collapsing to the floor.
He woke up hours later outside the building, confused and sore, like he had just run miles without stopping. At first, he tried to ignore it. But the next morning, everything felt… off. He moved faster without trying, caught things before they fell, and somehow stuck his hand to the bathroom mirror like it was glued there. “Okay… that’s not normal,” he muttered, staring at his reflection.
Over the next few days, it only got stranger. He could climb walls, jump higher than ever, and react to things before they even happened. It scared him—but at the same time, it felt like he had been given something important, even if he didn’t understand why.
Then the city started falling apart. People talked about creatures showing up in dark corners—things with glowing eyes and unnatural shapes. News channels showed blurry footage, and no one seemed to have answers. Then came a message that interrupted every screen in the city. A man in a mask called himself “The Architect,” claiming he was going to “fix” the world by releasing creatures from another dimension. As Deion listened, his stomach dropped. The machines shown in the background looked just like the ones from the lab where he worked. Somehow, this was all connected.
Deion knew he couldn’t just sit back and watch. He didn’t feel like a hero—he was just a guy who fixed things—but maybe that was enough. He put together a simple suit to protect himself and started using his powers to help people. At first, it was small stuff: stopping break-ins, helping people escape danger, figuring out how to control his abilities. But every clue led him closer to the same place—an abandoned subway tunnel deep under the city. One night, he followed his instincts and went down there, his heart pounding harder with every step.
What he found made him freeze. Huge machines lined the tunnels, glowing with energy, and inside massive cages were creatures that didn’t look like they belonged in this world. Some snarled, others just watched him with unsettling stillness. And standing in the middle of it all was The Architect. “I was wondering when you’d show up,” the man said calmly. Deion stepped forward, trying to stay steady, but something didn’t feel right. The Architect smiled and pressed a button. The cages began to open. The ground shook as something much bigger moved in the darkness behind them. Deion’s senses went wild, warning him—but before he could react, a massive shape lunged forward… and everything went silent.
