The Super Bowl is the championship game of the NFL and has been played every year since 1967, when it was first created as part of the merge between the NFL and the AFL . The first few games weren’t even called “Super Bowl” officially at first, they were just the AFL-NFL World Championship Game. However the name “Super Bowl” quickly came around and became official.

In the early years, teams like the Green Bay Packers dominated, led by legend coach Vince Lombardi. The general trophy it self is named after him . Over time, the Super Bowl became the biggest event in American sports, with massive TV audiences, famous halftime shows, and iconic commercials that are almost as popular as the game itself. Teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, San Francisco 49ers, and New England Patriots later built dynasties with multiple championships.

As the NFL grew, so did the Super Bowl’s cultural impact. It’s now more than just a football game, it’s a major entertainment event watched by millions worldwide. Different eras of the league have been defined by star quarterbacks like Joe Montana, Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning, and also iconic defenses like the Steel Curtain,  and the L.O.B. (Legion of Boom). These players helped their teams win multiple titles.

Today, the Super Bowl is seen as the biggest goal for anyone in the NFL, representing the peak of success for teams and players.
