Both the girls and boys wrestling teams were successful this season. Throughout the year, the athletes worked hard and showed a lot of dedication and determination during their matches and practices.
As a result of their effort, five girls and nine boys competed at regionals. This was a big accomplishment for both teams and showed how strong the programs were this season.
Owen Nickerson placed first at regionals, while Finley Fourspring earned third place. Because of their strong performances, both wrestlers qualified for the state tournament. Their success highlights the hard work put in by the team and the support from their coaches and teammates.
Over the weekend, Owen and Finley competed at states. Finley placed second and went 1–3 while wrestling at 106 pounds. Owen went 2–1 while wrestling in the heavyweight division.
When asked about her experience at states, Finley said, “I would say that it was fun and exciting and a great opportunity, and I’d like to thank my coaches and teammates for supporting me.¨
While in Hershey, both teams felt the love and support from their community.
