On February 10, the Corry Beaver bocce team faced the Maplewood Tigers on senior night.
Senior night turned an already competitive match into a tribute, honoring the players who have been playing for years. The seniors being recognized were Madi Brown, Lexi Burch, Nick Kunick, Ethan Artice, Margot Boucher.
Unfortunately for the Beavers, they lost both matches. The Beavers ended their season on an even record, with the record of 3-3.
Bocce is known to be one of the oldest sports in the world. It is on a smooth rectangular court, and players carefully aim and send a ball gliding across the surface. Bocce is a sport of precision, strategy, and nerve. The goal is pretty simple: roll your bocce balls as close as possible to a smaller target ball called the pallino.
