Corry is an often underrated school district. It’s not like we have terrible athletes or no smart kids. Some would even say that we have some great athletes and super smart kids. Some of those kids are still in ninth grade, performing at high athletic and academic rates, even being a part of the basketball team. We asked the coaches what they are seeing in their progression as a player and as a student.
Coach Tucci said he really liked the way they have all progressed as a team and how we have gained so much chemistry and feel for playing with each other. He said that it speeds up the rate of play and they are moving at such a faster rate and with 1000% more confidence. He also mentioned that he was really impressed with how they have all grown and that he is excited to see where they go as they get older and move on.
Coach Luther said he was really impressed with some of the shooting skills on the team. He said that he was impressed with the shot selection and that he was looking forward to seeing some of them on his team. The only thing that worries him is that most of them are guards and he worries about their ability to handle the ball and if you are going to be a guard you need to be able to handle the ball and make the right decision. He said there is always room for improvement and he is excited to have them next year.
Finally, Coach Bailey said he is really impressed with their growth from the start of the season to now. He is super impressed on how they went from losing to most teams last year to beating some teams they have never beat before and having the best record on a season ever. The coach said that he is excited to see us have a good run in the tournaments and that he is ready to see what happens.
