Corry Basketball tip-off

With the basketball season almost in play, the Corry Beavers are looking to have one of the best seasons in the program’s history under head coach Tyler Bailey.

The team looks to be better than their 13-10 season last year, where they unfortunately fell short in the D10 playoffs. Coach Tyler Bailey explained “The competitive schedule will make it hard to achieve, but I think we can do it.”

The team is returning four out of five starters from last season, including six seniors total, meaning that the Beavers are loaded with veteran talent. This talent returning means the Beavers are looking to make a strong playoff push. With the strong schedule the Beavers play, Bailey explained that being able to play a high-paced, strong defensive game, with three top scorers returning will really help with securing big wins in and out of the region.

Some key notes Coach Bailey included was the hope to have multiple All-Region First Team players, meaning a very strong offensive game to add to the strong defense planned for this year. In addition, he wanted to highlight that they have a player nearing the benchmark of 1000 points, an achievement that a very small amount of players get to accomplish.

The last note Bailey explained was the deep roster the Beavers have this year, explaining he would like to be able to rotate 9-10 players onto the court.

The outlook for the Beavers looks very positive, and it should be a very exciting year.
