The Cleveland Browns played the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and this game was not just a win for the Browns but a blow out win. They picked off quarterback Tua Tagovailoa three different times and one ended up being a pick six by the new addition cornerback Tyson Campbell. Then on the offensive side it was running back Quinshon Judkins leading the charge with 84 rushing yards and three touchdowns as he is making a strong push for offensive rookie of the year.
This was also an important game for the Browns because it was the first time they scored 20+ points since week 13 of last season when they still lost to the Denver Broncos 32-41. It is easy to see that the Browns biggest struggle has been on the offense this year as they rank 28th in total offense, but hopefully after this game it will build some momentum for the offense. But on the defensive side of the ball they have been amazing, ranking third in total defense, and if you’re a Browns fan you can’t ask for much more out of the defense. But if the Browns want any chance at making some kind of push, this offense needs a lot of improvement and needs to play better as a unit.
The Browns have also made some important moves this season. The first one was when they benched quarterback Joe Flacco and then traded him and a sixth round pick to the Bengals for a fifth round pick. Then they also traded veteran cornerback Greg Newsome and sixth round pick to Jaguars for Tyson Campbell and seventh round pick.
After moving Joe Flacco it left rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel starting and he has started three games with a record of 1-2. Gabriel has played not great but not terribly. He has zero turnovers over his first three starts, but there is big concern with downfield accuracy and if he is capable of making these big plays. So after this win over Miami this should build some momentum for the Browns and hopefully make a push this season, but this team needs to play good on both sides of the ball and as a whole if they want to do just that.
