The Chicago Bears continued their winning streak yesterday with another win making it four in a row. After a tough win in a gritty Monday night game against the Washington Commanders the Bears faced off against the Saints in Soldier Field and handled the Saints very well with the final score being 26-14. In what many said could be a trap game the Bears held the lead the whole game, sparked by the four turnovers Chicago’s defense created.
The Bears defense was what highlighted Chicago’s day with interceptions from Nashon Wright, Kevin Byard, and Tremaine Edmunds. Chicago also had a forced fumble from Montez Sweat which was recovered by Bears DT Gervon Dexter, Sr. However, the defense did let up a touchdown to end the first half and a touchdown to start the second half both caught by Chris Olave. Other than that short period of time it felt like the defense showed up to prove something and that they did.
The offense was a different story. Caleb Williams had what was his statistically worst game of the season going 15/26 with 172 yards and an interception. Williams looked out of sync with the offense as a whole, but still ended up scoring 26 points led by strong rushing performances from D’Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai. Swift had his best rushing game against Washington and followed it up with another one of his best games, rushing for 124 yards off of 19 carries with one touchdown. Monangai, who is Chicago’s 7th round pick, also had a strong day rushing for 81 yards off of 13 carries and recording his first touchdown. Roschon Johnson also chipped in with 1 rush for 11 yards.
Next up for the Bears is the Ravens. Chicago will be on the road to face Baltimore who is coming off of a bye week. They will get healthier and are expected to start Lamar Jackson who has spent the last couple games on the sidelines. The Ravens come into the game as favorites and it will no doubt be a tough game for Chicago.
