The last week of school felt like walking through a dream. Nothing felt real anymore. Teachers stopped giving homework, people started dressing like it was already summer, and the halls were filled with energy.
Landon sat in his last class of the year, watching the clock like it held the key to his freedom. Only a few more minutes. He could barely sit still. This year had been a mix of everything—hard work, stress, fun, and surprises. There were late nights studying, tough quizzes, and group projects that didn’t always go right. But there were also good things: like laughing in class, winning a track meet, and getting compliments on his newspaper stories. Landon had made new friends and learned more about himself than he expected.
As the final seconds ticked down, the class got quiet, like everyone was holding their breath. Then, the bell rang—and just like that, the year was over. Everyone jumped up at once. Backpacks were thrown over shoulders, people were cheering and shouting, and some were even dancing in the hall. Landon walked out with a huge smile, high-fiving a few friends along the way.
The sunlight hit his face as he stepped outside, and for the first time in months, he felt completely relaxed. Summer was finally here. No more alarms. No more rushing. Just time—time to sleep in, go on adventures, hang out with friends, and enjoy being young.
He didn’t know what the next school year would bring, but for now, none of that mattered. Right now, life was good. And it was just getting started.
